Vascular Testing

Vascular testing is a non-invasive method of determining the adequacy of blood flow to the legs. It specifically looks for atherosclerotic disease of the arteries to the legs. The typical indication is for recurrent pain in the legs when walking called claudication. The test plus a consultation with the physician takes about forty-five minutes and involves taking blood pressures in the arms and legs while lying down. Sometimes this is repeated immediately following exercise.
