The Black River Sports Medicine Team is a group of physicians and physical therapists volunteering their services to provide Sports Medicine coverage to local high school athletes. The focus of the program has been on multiple sports, especially those with high injury rates such as football, wrestling and hockey. Since its inception in 1999, dozens of students and their families have benefited from the program. Services provided free of charge include: medical staff game coverage, supplies, and a lump and bump screening clinic at the Black River Memorial Hospital Rehab Department for student athletes injured at practice.
